T-Mobile’s opening Galaxy S26 Ultra deal gets you a device for free without a trade-in — but it’s not the deal I’d recommend to most

However, there is a catch. To qualify for the offer, you must subscribe to one of T-Mobile’s higher-tier plans, which can cost over $100 per month for a single line. While skipping the trade-in requirement is a major benefit, the expensive monthly plan may not suit every budget.

Fortunately, there are still great value deals available on other models in the lineup. For example, the standard Samsung Galaxy S26 can also be free with a new line, but this time on the more affordable Experience More plan.

This mid-tier plan starts at $85 per month for a single line and still includes several premium perks, such as Netflix access and UHD streaming support. For customers who want a fast mobile plan and a powerful new phone without paying for the most expensive option, this could be a very appealing choice.
