A report from Android Headlines recently claimed that OnePlus was being shut down by its parent company, Oppo. However, OnePlus has now denied this information.

Robin Liu, CEO of OnePlus India, said on social media that the company is still operating normally and will continue its business. He called the rumors about OnePlus shutting down false and not supported by facts.
TechGenB welcomed this clarification. The site has followed OnePlus since its first phone launched in 2014. Last year, TechGenB gave the OnePlus 15 a five-star rating and ranked it among the best Android phones available.
Oppo and OnePlus merged in 2021, with OnePlus becoming a sub-brand of Oppo. Since then, phones from OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme have shared many similarities, but OnePlus phones still keep their own identity.
The original report said OnePlus might be slowing down because of lower phone shipments worldwide and reduced marketing outside China. Analysts estimate that OnePlus sold around 13–14 million phones in 2024, down from 17 million the year before. During the same time, Oppo’s phone sales increased.
There is still some concern about OnePlus’s future outside China and India. For example, OnePlus does not have carrier partnerships in the US, and some leaks suggest that future models like the OnePlus Open 2 and OnePlus 15s may have been canceled.
Many people hope OnePlus will continue to operate globally, as it provides strong competition to brands like Apple, Samsung, and Google. The company’s latest flagship phone remains highly rated, and the tech world would miss OnePlus if it disappeared.
