Have your say: tell me what you want from the Samsung Galaxy S26

We’re likely just weeks away from the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup, with the next Galaxy Unpacked event expected to take place on February 25. Yet despite this being one of the biggest smartphone launches of the year, enthusiasm around Samsung’s next flagship phones feels surprisingly muted.

That lack of excitement was clear when readers were recently asked whether they’re looking forward to the Galaxy S26. Around 70% said they weren’t particularly hyped, with many pointing to the increasingly iterative nature of smartphones and the apparent lack of meaningful upgrades rumored for Samsung’s next-generation devices.

So the question is: what would Samsung need to deliver with the Galaxy S26 to make people genuinely excited again?

Major camera upgrades would certainly help — but that’s easier said than done, especially when the Galaxy S25 Ultra already ranks among the best camera phones available. A new chipset is almost guaranteed across the S26 range, yet raw performance gains alone may not be enough to move the needle for many users. What kind of real-world performance improvements would actually feel meaningful?

Battery life could be a key battleground. In a recent poll, TechGenBreaders ranked battery longevity as the most important smartphone feature. Could Samsung introduce new battery technology, improved efficiency, or even accessories designed to push battery life well beyond a full day of heavy use?

Then there’s AI. While Samsung has leaned heavily into Galaxy AI, many current features focus on translation, image editing, and productivity tweaks. Would more powerful, genuinely useful AI tools be enough to reignite excitement?

Of course, some of these ideas may be wishful thinking, and the Galaxy S26 could ultimately be another incremental update rather than a bold leap forward. Still, the possibilities are there — at least if Samsung is willing to push beyond the familiar upgrade cycle.

What would it take for the Galaxy S26 to get you excited again? Whether it’s battery life, cameras, performance, AI, or something entirely different, let us know what you’re hoping to see when Samsung finally lifts the curtain on its next flagship phones.
