Nothing sees your colorful MacBook Neo, and raises you two new funky Android phones — meet the Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro

Just a day after the colorful MacBook Neo grabbed attention with its eye-catching new color options, the wave of vibrant tech launches has continued with the debut of the Nothing Phone (4a) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, which were introduced alongside the budget-friendly Nothing Headphone (a).

While the reveal wasn’t a complete surprise—since Nothing had been teasing these devices for quite some time—it still marks an important update to the company’s smartphone lineup.

The two new phones follow the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro and related models, effectively filling the gap left by the Nothing Phone (4), which the company reportedly doesn’t plan to release this year. Both devices feature stronger materials for improved durability, updated software, and a redesigned version of the brand’s signature illuminated Glyph Bar, which now includes a new recording indicator light.

The standard Nothing Phone (4a) introduces a number of notable upgrades. It now includes a 3.5x periscope zoom camera, an improvement over the 2x zoom found on its predecessor. The display has also been enhanced, offering a 1.5K resolution and a pixel density of 440 pixels per inch, making it one of the sharpest screens available in this category. Peak brightness has also been boosted significantly, reaching up to 4,500 nits.

In terms of design, the black and white versions maintain the brand’s familiar look with transparent elements and a futuristic, almost robotic style. However, the most eye-catching models are the new light blue and pink color options, which add a playful touch rarely seen on modern smartphones. These colorful versions drew plenty of attention during their appearance at Mobile World Congress.

Availability varies depending on the region. Both the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro will launch in the United Kingdom, but in the United States the standard model will not be sold. Meanwhile, in Australia, the Pro version will arrive later than the base model.

Pricing for the Nothing Phone (4a) starts at £349 / AU$649 (around $400), while the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro begins at $499 / £499 / AU$949, with higher prices depending on storage and RAM configurations
